State Board Committee

Chair:

This committee is responsible for maintaining a consistent line of communication between the Georgia Board of Dentistry, GDHA, and the dental hygienist member of the Board of Dentistry.

Specific duties of this committee include:

1. Providing continued attendance at all Georgia Board of Dentistry meetings and reports to the GDHA Board of Trustees.
2. Communicating desires and concerns of GDHA to GBD Executive Director and President.
3. Providing a mechanism to assure that all GDHA members are informed of the laws by which a dental hygienist is bound in Georgia.
4. Communicating closely with the Legislative and Ethics Committee on any prospective legislation that may directly or indirectly affect the Georgia Board of Dentistry.
5. Reviewing and updating, as necessary, the criteria for selection of a dental hygienist for the Georgia Board of Dentistry. Criteria changes must be submitted to the Executive Board for approval.
6. Submitting the current Criteria for Selection and Professional Vitae Form as part of the Policy and Procedure manual.
