President's Message:
Dear Members,
I am pleased to be starting my 2nd year as
President of the Sweetwater component. my first year was a
true learning experience and I want to thank my fellow
component members for being so patient and showing me the
ropes. I am proud to be part of the Sweetwater component.
Our members have a true passion for dental hygiene and they
are just a wonderful group of women. I am looking forward to
starting a new and busy year in 2008. We will begin the year
with our Annual Symposium on January 18 at West Central
Technical College at the Douglas Campus. Our symposium is a
great opportunity to earn CE credits while also having fun
with other hygienists from the local area. 0n Feb. 2nd we
will be having our 2nd Annual Sealant Saturday. Last year we
began this volunteer opportunity to place free sealants on
children from the community. We placed over 250 sealants and
educated many children who do not usually have access to
dental treatment. It was a truly rewarding experience and I
hope you will volunteer with us and make this year a success
as well. We will also be having several component CE
meetings this year. Please contact me if you any topic
suggestions. I am looking forward to an exciting year.
please feel free to contact me with any questions. if you
are a new member we would love to invite you to become part
of our component. At Sweetwater everyone is welcome and
appreciated.
Thank you, Rachel McMullen, RDH
President
